Carlos Solorzano is a professional drummer & songwriter from Southern Arizona who is available for drumming services & music licensing opportunities. He writes original instrumental compositions that are based mostly on world music ideas as well as original tribal drumming compositions that have been featured on close to 20 television shows around the world including Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, America's Top Model, Live: With Regis and Kathie Lee, Weekly with Ed Gordon, Sunday Best on BET, various shows on the BBC including Maps: Power, Plunder and Possession & Rhys to the Rescue, Viva Hollywood (MTV & VH1), Steelroots Classics, and The Big Party  & E! News Live on E! Entertainment Television. 

His compositions have earned him multiple ASCAPLUS songwriting awards and a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts in order to write and record more compositions for licensing opportunities. Many of his drumming compositions have also been featured on his solo CD "Desert Drummer," which is available on Amazon. He is currently working on new music both for licensing and a new solo CD.  

He also has a solo drumming act where he adapts world rhythms to the American drum set in order to imitate the sound of a percussion combo. He has performed this is act in clubs and festivals all over Arizona and California and in a master class setting at places such as the Music Instrument Museum in Phoenix, KGUN;'s Tucson Morning Blend Television Show, Pima Community College, Tucson Children's Museum and the Carson Community Center and at special events like the Arizona Black Film Showcase, AFASA African Festival and at other special events throughout the state of Arizona. 

He is a member of the Tony Corrales Band, Sonoran Sol and his original project called the Blue Note Ritual while continuing to freelance both live and in the studio. He also teaches percussion part-time at St. Augustine Catholic High School in Tucson, AZ.
